A Southern Occilation here, the flooding of a main transport arterial there, and before you know it, a coffee bean you treasure is completely changed or unavailable altogether. And so it was with the Ethiopian coffee in our Doubleplusgood blend. Things change, seasons change. Our coffees change. Rather than trying to replicate our perfect formula with another bean, we decided to create a whole different blend using the same Brazil we used in Doubleplusgood and a new & equally delicious Ethiopia. The body is remarkably silky. On sipping, you're greeted with deep smoky flavors that yield quickly to a floral essense, then a clean, super-sweet nutmeg finish.

Rwanda COOPAC Peaberry

Rwanda COOPAC Peaberry COOPAC co-op is located in the western Rwandan provinces of Rabavu and Rutsiro. One of the goals of the COOPAC co-op is to promote the role of women. In the Gesenyi area, 10% of the plantation owners are women. Often widowed, they must meet the needs of large families (between 4 and 8 children per woman). COOPAC encourages these women to organize themselves in associations for producting "women's coffee" and Agaseke baskets, which are then exported by COOPAC to the U.S. The coffee is medium bodied and earthy, with flavors of black tea, cane juice and a hint of clove. Makes a strong cup by itself, delicious and smooth with milk.

Honduras Catracha

We purchased this pretty coffee directly from our new friend Mayra Orellana-Powell, who imported it independently for her family farm and their neighbors. Each lot is produced on their own small farms. Catracha has a sweet vanilla aroma, delicate loquat topnotes that give way to black tea and tobacco flavors, with a clean aftertaste. Good for drip, black. Delicate & pleasant with milk.

El Salvador Tres Aguilas

Patricia Valiente is the 4th generation owner of her family's farm, Tres Aguilas. She inherited the farm from her mother Gladys, who managed it before her. Patricia takes great pride in ensuring a high quality of care for the soil around the coffee trees; she calls the special recipe of organic materials and minerals used to amend the soil her "Witches Soup", and only entrusts its application to women. The coffee has a warm aroma of dates, flavors of sweet grass and raw sugar cane and a touch of wood. Just for drip, best black or with only a touch of milk.

Clocking in with possibly the longest name in the history of coffees, this offering is the decaf version of a well-known coffee farm in Sumatra that produces consistently excellent coffees and this decaf processed by Swiss Water is no exception.
